Get your heart rate up with a variety of sports drills using various equipment, and end with Yo-Pi (Yoga and Pilates combo) to enhance your strength and flexibility. Each class will be different.

Bursts of high intensity cardio alternated with weights, core and balance work. Class will use medicine balls, steps, hand weights, jump ropes and resistance tubes.

High Definition:

This is a combo class doing circuits, partner work and core work. It is more toning and defining muscles than cardiovascular, however you will get your heart rate up lifting weights.

Judo is a form of self defense that teaches mat work, throws, chokes, arm bars, sweeps and self discipline. This class is instructional and offers physical benefits. Bring your whole family and get some exercise while also learning the art of Judo. Uniforms will be discussed in class.

Tae Kwon Do:

Instructor: Dean Carson, 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. His credentials are recognized by both the International Martial Arts Federation (IMAF) and the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF).

Tae Kwon Do is a martial art of self-defense from Korea that teaches powerful kicks, punches and blocks. Physically, Tae Kwon Do develops strength, speed, balance, flexibility and stamina. Class typically includes stretching, warm-up exercises, kicking drills, form practice, self-defense, and free sparring. Adults and youths will be paired by age. Wear comfortable workout clothes - Uniform information will be given in class.

Fitness classes require a Registration Form, Fitness Form and payment due before the class starts, to insure your place in the class. Some classes with limited participation may fill up before the deadline so register as soon as possible.
Waiting lists may be taken in the case of filled classes and cancellations, please call to check on a class you are interested in after the deadline, but before the first class. |
Continuing fitness activities..
Walking: The MRC gym is open for walking each morning, Monday thru Saturday, until 10:00 am. The Mulvane Recreation Center is closed Sunday mornings. MRC membership or Day Pass required.
Open Gym*: The MRC gym is open to members and day pass users to shoot baskets or play volleyball from 10:00 a.m. to closing, Monday thru Saturday, and all afternoon Sundays.
*Maintenance is being scheduled for the Gymnasium floor. Closing dates will be posted as soon as they are confirmed. During the Gym floor maintenance, there will be an alternate route to access the program studio and fitness center. |
Fitness/Weight Room: Our fitness center/weight room is equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, a stationary bike, a recumbent bike, free weights and various weight apparatus for MRC members or Day Pass guests, 16 years old and above. Please bring your own headphones for use with the machines that have TVs or audio.
The MRC does not have showers or provide towels.
Personal Training: We have a new certified personal trainer on staff that will be accepting new clients.
The personal fitness consultation gives the opportunity to have an instructor set a workout routine tailored to your fitness level and schedule. By appointment, only.
Requirements: MRC member in good standing and assessment that includes paper work, measurements, fitness tests, etc. Costs based on person(s) x sessions=price:
