Summer Rec

At Mulvane Recreation Commission, we provide a safe and fun environment for kids to learn, grow, and play. Summer Rec is an 10 week, all day program for students who just completed K-5th grade.  We offer a variety of activities like arts & crafts, sports, field trips, and camp-wide friendly competitions. Come and join us to create memories that last a lifetime.

Registration begins Monday, April 1st.  The program begins Tuesday, May 28th. and runs to Friday, August 2nd.

Bring Paperwork & First Weeks Payment to the MRC office.

Attend Parent Meeting on

Registration

Registration begins Monday, April 1st. All paperwork must be completed and turned into the MRC office before your child can attend Summer Rec.  Deadline to register to guarantee enrollment is Friday, May 10th.

Cost

Tuition is $120/week and includes all activities, field trips, swimming, snacks, and transportation during Summer Rec hours.  All payments are invoiced and processed through the Brightwheel App.

Field Trips

Weekly field trips are great way to enrich your child's experience in our Summer Rec program.  This summer we are excited to be going to a Wind Surge game, SC Zoo, Derby Theatre, Exploration Place, Rock River Rapids, Local Parks and More!
(there is no extra cost associated with these field trips.)

Drop Off & Pick Up

Drop off begins at 6:30am & pick up is by 6:00pm.  Each participant needs to be signed in and signed out by a parent or guardian through the Brightwheel app.  

Program Details

The program begins Tuesday, May 28th. and runs to Friday, August 2nd.  You can drop off as early as 6:30 am and must pick up by 6:00 pm.

Lunches & Snacks

Breakfast & lunch are provided through the USD 263 free summer meal program.  Students will walk to the Grade School daily for meals.  
Snacks are provided by the program and are distributed mid morning, mid afternoon, and early evening.  PLEASE send a water bottle daily.

Swimming

Participants will visit the Mulvane Public Pool weekly.  A swimming suit, towel, and sunscreen will need to be brought each day we attend the pool.

Staff

All MRC staff fall within the state licensing standards and are Red Cross CPR and First Aid certified.

  • Summer Rec paperwork packets can also be picked up at the MRC Front Desk.

  • All paperwork must be complete before turning it in to be accepted into the program.

  • Summer Rec is a state licensed (KDHE) school-aged childcare program.

  • KAW Nation and DCF payments are accepted.
